Job description

  • Development, provision and operation of IKEA digital products and services through the use of new and existing technology and agile delivery methods
  • Development of high quality (software) code, design and architecture which have been tested and are ready to be shipped applying and using good practices and agreed standards
  • Continuous improvement within the software engineering function, encouraging simplicity, efficiency, ownership and accountability, applying the good practice software engineering practices (e.g. DRY principles, TDD and BDD, continuous integration, automated tests, pair programming, code reviews); contributing to the development and maintenance of products and solutions
  • Overseeing the various solutions being developed, within their product area, incl. code-reviews to ensure technical feasibility and that solution are optimized for speed, scalability and reusability
  • Supporting chapter lead in coaching, developing and guiding more junior team members on functional expertise and encouraging good practices

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a software engineer with a similar level of experience/knowledge with the following technologies: Android (Java), experience or willingness to work with Kotlin desirable
  • Demonstrable experience in working in an Agile working set-up
  • Passionate about technology, innovation and delivery of high-quality software
  • Share and live the IKEA culture and values
  • Proven advanced training in computer science or any engineering equivalent
  • Willingness to work in our beautiful offices in Malmö or Helsingborg
